Michael Saccento, a long-time resident of Middleburgh passed peacefully after his seven-year battle with cancer, Sunday, February 12, 2017.

Mike was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 24, 1945. He leaves his wife, Cathy (Marasco) Saccento of 48 years, his son Christopher (Kristin) Saccento of Valatie, his daughter Annette (Wes) Andrew of Middleburgh, grandchildren, Abigail Andrew, Madison Saccento, Kaili Saccento, Sidney Andrew and Sophia Saccento, and his brother Guy (Andrea) Saccento of Berkley Heights, NJ. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Rachael Saccento, and sister, Marie (Bob) Moore.
Michael graduated high school and joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served onboard the USS Norfolk as a radio and signalman. Shortly after, he met and married Cathy, had two children and relocated his family to Middleburgh. Mike worked for Con Edison, NYS Power Authority, NYS Power Pool and NYS ISO.

Mike enjoyed golf, casino trips and working the world on his HAM radio, but his true passion was his five granddaughters. Cathy and Mike enjoyed their time spent rooting at softball games and spending hours at school games and competitive cheerleading competitions.

Mike's biggest joy in his life was spending time with his family. He adored his loving and caring wife, Cathy, and was truly happy when the two of them were together. He was very proud of his two children and all his grandchildren. Mike always enjoyed the many birthday parties, holiday get-togethers, and family vacations.
He was a devout Catholic and member of St. Catherine's/Our Lady of the Valley Church, where he served faithfully for 40 plus years. He loved his years as a member of The American Legion and Knights of Columbus serving in many posts and committees.
