Middleburgh – Reuben S. Mickle, Jr., 71, of Lorraine Drive, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 29, 2020.
Reuben was born on July 15, 1948 in Cobleskill to Cathrine (Tillison) and Reuben S. Mickle, Sr. Reuben served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1968 and again from 1968 to 1974. He enjoyed a busy life, volunteering with Scho-Wright Ambulance and the Middleburgh Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Schoharie County Conservation Club, the Middleburgh Rod & Gun Club and the VFW. He loved the outdoors, deep sea fishing, hunting, camping and even worked those passions into his most recent employment at Walmart’s sporting goods section. He never missed watching a thunderstorm, playing a game of Bingo, the chance at winning scratch-offs or spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.
Reuben was predeceased by his parents; his granddaughter: Anyssa Ann Pisano and his siblings: Dolores Diamond, George Mickle, Arley Mickle, Teddy Mickle and James Mickle.
He will be loved forever by his wife, Sandra (Slater) Mickle, whom he married on April 10, 1970; daughter: Anna Mickle (Mark Schrom); sons: Jeremy Mickle (Sarah Bouck) Reuben (April) Mickle, III, all of Middleburgh; grandchildren: Ashley (Joseph) Talarico, Ambir (Corey) Merwin, Timothy Mickle, Emily Mickle, Lindsey Mickle, Mark Schrom, Christian McCance, Raven Pisano and Jaydyn Pisano; great-grandchildren: Aiden, Eli and Peyton Talarico; siblings: Larry (Judy) Mickle, Marleene (Boyce) Lawyer, Rosemary (Art) Cummings, Charles Mickle, Howard Mickle, Sue Mickle, Doyle Diamond, Eddie Mickle; many nieces, nephews and friends including John Pisano.
A funeral service will be at 7:00PM on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh. All are invited to visit with his family from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, prior to the service.
