Livingstonville - Paulina Draghiceanu, 76, of State Route 145, found eternal peace from her declining health on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the comfort of her home.
Paulina was born on September 11, 1942 in Olt, Romania to Ilinca and Marin Ghita, the youngest of 8 children.
She married her loving husband Nicky on October 18, 1959 and shared her life and love with him, raising their family and eventually immigrating to America in 1982, living first in Astoria and then moving to Livingstonville in 1989.
A true model of stamina, generosity and love, Paulina worked tirelessly on their land, growing produce and sharing their bounty. She greeted everyone with a smile and open arms at the roadside vegetable stand, sending them with more than they came for and a piece of her loving spirit and gratitude.
Holding Paulina’s love forever are her husband: Nicky Draghiceanu of Livingstonville; her daughter: Mimi Davis of Beacon, NY; her son: George (Amy) Draghiceanu of Atlanta, GA; her 5 grandchildren and her brother: Gheorghe Ghita of Romania.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh with Archbishop Andronik as officiant. Interment will follow in Livingstonville Cemetery. All are invited to visit with Paulina’s family on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5-7PM at the funeral home.
