Warnerville – Michael Stephens received the greatest Christmas gift and was welcomed home to Heaven on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from his home on West Fulton Road.
Michael was born on December 24, 1944 in Manhattan to Dorothy (Petersen) and Theodore Stephens.
Growing up in a large family himself, Michael raised his children with warmth, love and lots of doting on his daughters. Working hard as a Mason with Local 157 in Schenectady and sharing his love and gifts with his family brought Michael as much joy as hunting, fishing and vacationing to Florida. A big kid at heart, he loved to laugh and throw his hands in the air, riding the roller coasters at the Great Escape.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, his wife: Linda Stephens; his daughter: Connie Cerrone and his siblings: Robert Stephens, Theodore Stephens and Gerard Stephens.
Loving him forever are his daughters: Christina (Edward) Van Schaick of Cobleskill, Catherine (William) Van Steenburg of Cobleskill, Linda (Wayne Bougton) Stephens of Fort Plain; grandchildren: Nancy (Joseph) All, Amanda (Joseph) Schultz, Christopher Stephens, Michael Van Steenburg, William (Michelle) Pierce, Paul (Evelyn Berry) Van Schaick, Theodore Stephens, Emily Stephens; great-grandchildren: Karson Van Schaick, Harper All, Colton Schultz, Raelynne Pierce, Harmony Pierce, Bentley Pierce, Braeden All, Asa Schultz and Karter Van Schaik; siblings: Loretta Maino, Virginia Mataraza, Mary Durante, Patricia Napolitano, Dorothy Scotti, James Stephens, Joseph Stephens, John Stephens; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main Street, Middleburgh. Spring interment will be in the Breakabeen Cemetery. All are invited to visit with Michael’s family from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2019 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh.
