Rotterdam - It is with deep sorrow and much love, that we mourn the passing of our beloved son, Michael R. (Mike) Denny on September 20, 2020 at 55 years old. Mike passed away in the comfort of his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on July 20, 1965 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Michael was the son of Dale & Marie (Spaulding) Denny of West Fulton, NY.
Michael worked for the New York State Department of Corrections as a Food Administrator II in the food processing center at the Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome, NY. He retired on July 20, 2020 with 32 years with Department of Corrections.
Michael was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Rotterdam and was a proud fireman for the South Schenectady Fire Department in Rotterdam for 24 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing with his son Jacob, snowmobiling, four wheeling and car shows.
Michael will be lovingly missed by his parents, Dale and Marie Denny; his sister Dr. Noreen Denny of Greenville, North Carolina and his son: Jacob.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Hospice staff for their care and compassion.
At Michael’s request, there will be no service but his family thanks you for remembering him and them through this time.
