Judy Lynne Atwell, of Schoolhouse Road, was called home to Heaven on Thursday, June 2, 2022 and joined the love of her life, Randy Atwell, who predeceased her in 1995.
Judy was born 60 years ago on January 15, 1962 in Cooperstown to Eleanor (Sherman) and Gustave Zabrisky.
Home was not a word to Judy; it was a way of life. Her love of cooking and baking ensured succulent aromas and her family and friends enjoyed the best delights. Beyond her family and friends, she was known to feed anyone that would let her, but one taste of her cooking and you would understand why. Quiet moments found her quilting and tie-dying, and a lover of music, she was a flower child for sure, with a rocker's soul! She loved her family immensely and anyone who knew her would quickly say she had a heart of gold. It’s no wonder then, with such warm, loving traits, that Judy became a second mother to many of her children’s friends while they were growing up. Perhaps the best way to describe her spirit, is to quote from her favorite song, “When I said that I loved you, I meant that I loved you forever.” And to know Judy, is to know she meant that with all of her heart!
Loving Judy forever are her children: Jeremy (Tabitha) Zabrisky, Jessie (Derrick)Williams, Jacqueline (Darren) Chichester, Jeanette (Jessica) Williams, Randall (Shayla) Atwell; and she will forever be Mammy to: Brianna, Carrie, Ashley, Matthew, Mason, Ava, Dezzeray, Aiden,
Gretchyn, Jared, Ethan, Madison, Logan, Devin, Bryce, Steven, Randall, Brooklynne,
unborn great-grandchild Elliott; her sisters: Carol (Donald) Campbell, Laureen (Joseph) Griffith; aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Besides Randy, Judy was also predeceased by her parents: Eleanor and Gustave.
All are invited to a celebration of her life at 6:00PM on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh. Visitation with her family will be from 3:00-6:00, prior to the service. Interment will be private in Milford Cemetery beside her beloved Randy.
Judy’s family requests memorial donations to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092 in her honor.
