Gilboa –Joseph P. “Joey” Giangrande, 46, of Blakesley Road, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in the warmth and loving care of his daughter’s home.
Born in Yorktown Heights on November 22, 1973 to his mother, Mary “Bunni”(Manley) who predeceased him in 2018 and to his father, Joseph Giangrande, Joey graduated from SUNY Delhi and went on to work at IBEW Local 236 Journeymen out of Albany.
Heaven surely has a baseball team and Joey is alongside the greats, sharing their passion for stealing home base, throwing people out at second and homeruns. He loved hunting in nature and was also a talented woodworker, crafting picnic tables, furniture, stools and even his own pipes.
Like many before him, greatness comes from love, devotion and giving of one’s self to family, his friends and others in need. Joey was such a man and much more those who will cherish his love and memory forever, including his daughter: Jenna (Alex) Fletcher of Hamden, his son: Mark Danouski (Kim Stiles) of Clatskanie, OR; his grandchildren: John-Carter “JC” Wyckoff, Aubrianna and Raegan Danouski; his father: Joseph Giangrande, “The Old Man,” of Gilboa; his brother: Matthew (Jessica) Giangrande of Poughkeepsie; niece and nephews: Olivia, Matthew and Jaxon Giangrande; goddaughter: Jessica Egan of Gilboa and his beloved Pitbull, Stella, and many friends.
Joey’s family invites you to a visitation with them from 11-1PM on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street in Middleburgh. Distancing and facial protection will be respected by all. A celebration of his life will be held privately, at the family’s convenience.
