Isabel Skowfoe Obituary

Like the sun, that brings warmth and color and the stars at night, that bring twinkling shimmers of beauty to our world, so too does a person whose life revolves around happiness, love and joy. And from the day she was born on May 23, 2002, Isabel M. Skowfoe emulated all of those charms and more until her beautifully peaceful final bow, in her sleep and in the comfort and love of her home on July 23, 2020.

Eighteen years seems like too little time, yet it is a lifetime made up of happy moments and memories shared with the family she loved, following her favorite character Percy Jackson, hiking in the beauty of nature with friends and catching beautiful sunrises and sunsets, followed by twinkling stars that recharged her spirit.  It is learning about God and country, at the Middleburgh Reformed Church and being a Girl Scout.  It is studying, learning, being a member of the National Honor Society and graduating from Middleburgh Central School in 2020. It is being enrolled in the Communications program at SUNY Cobleskill with a dream of working at Disney someday. It is filled with a love of music, film, Disney, Star Wars, Marvel and theater.  It is the thrill of auditioning, being cast and performing with the Timothy Murphy Playhouse and honored as Proctor Theater’s CAST Student of the Year in 2019.

It is quiet moments in thought and reflection within her mind, writing, creating and receiving the incredible honor of officially publishing her first book, “Sabrina Banner, The Soul of a Sorcerer.”  Years and life are only what we make of them and eighteen years are too few, yet Isabel’s were enough to brighten our world, our lives and our hearts with her beautiful smile, her loving spirit and her incredible creativity that will live on eternally.

Loving her forever are her mom and dad: Dawn (Warner) and Philip R. Skowfoe, III and her sisters: Emily and Olivia Skowfoe, all of West Fulton; her grandparents: Rebecca and Philip R. Skowfoe, Jr. of Fultonham, Margaret and Roger Cusano of Rotterdam, George Warner of Bainbridge and Linda Schaffer of Howes Cave; her great-grandmother: Phyllis Cusano of Schenectady and her godmother: Michele Schaffer-Cole; her aunts and uncles: Shawn and Melissa Warner, Brandon and Lauren Warner, Wayne Skowfoe and Kathy Guest, Jamie Skowfoe and Clint Whitt, Samantha and Brian Nicol, Cathy and Eric Buskey, Irving Skowfoe and Suzie Conklin, Deborah and Andy Work; many cousins; her best friends: Ania Keidong and Makayla Ryder and many other friends and extended family.
