Guy Lindemann Obituary

Guy William Lindemann, 68, of Huntersland, died September 18, 2021, at his home "on the hill," where his family has lived for five generations.

Guy was born May 10, 1953, in Schenectady, the first child of Harry "Skip" Lindemann and Kathryn (Bradt) Spencer. Guy graduated from Middleburgh High School in 1972 after completing a course in Building Trades and went on to enjoy a more than 35-year career at Guilderland High School, keeping the hallways, classrooms, and grounds tidy and in working order for the staff and students. While in high school, Guy met the love of his life just a few lockers down from his, and together he and M. Martha (Laraway) Lindemann would go on to build a home, a life, and a family over the course of 50 years.

Guy's life was all about the people around him. He was a lifetime member of the Huntersland Volunteer Fire Department, for which he helped build the current building, and a devoted member of the Huntersland Methodist Church. He not only participated in his children's events as a parent, but became a Little League coach, Scout Master, a field trip chaperone, and a set builder for musicals along the way. When he wasn't giving himself to his family, friends, and community he enjoyed hunting, fishing (especially ice fishing), caring for his home and lawn, barbecuing, and enjoying a cold Heineken. He loved his 1955 Ferguson tractor and especially loved his family.

Guy is survived by his wife: M. Martha (Laraway) Lindemann; his two children: Jeremy S. (Gina) Lindemann and Mariah M. Lindemann, all of Huntersland; his mother: Kathryn (Donald) Spencer, of Guilderland; his siblings: Gary Lindemann of Salt Lake City, UT, Judy (Keith) Henderson of Boyntonville, Barbara (Steven) Barsky of Nevada City, CA and Randy (Ellen) Irons of Geneva, OH; his sister-in-law: Donna (David L.) Wood and his brother-in-law: Donald "Bill" (Marlene) Laraway, all of Middleburgh; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom were his favorite.

Guy was predeceased by his father: Harry "Skip" Lindemann; his step-father: Earl Irons; his sisters and brothers-in-law: Patricia (John) White and Joan (E.David) Hallock; and his nephews Jeffrey Henderson and William Terry.
