Schoharie – Edith M. Jaqueway, of Terrace Mountain Road, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Delhi Nursing and Rehab in Delhi, NY from declining health.
Edith was born 87 years ago in Astoria, Queens on May 26, 1934 to Marie (Michaelis) and Erhardt Graulich. She spent her childhood years growing up in Centerport, NY. In her teenage years, the family moved to Sharon Springs to operate a dairy farm. After graduating from Sharon Springs High School, Edith worked as a secretary.
Edith was married on August 27, 1955 to Robert Jaqueway and together they started their home and family. Edith spent her years as a homemaker devoted to the care of her family. She was known for her decorated cakes and made wedding cakes for her children as well as for other family members and friends. Edith was also active in 4-H teaching sewing, knitting, and crochet and served as a leader with the Schoharie Driftwoodettes for many years.
Not only was she dedicated to her husband and family, but Edith was devoted to her faith and her Lord through the church. She was a long-time member of the Schoharie Reformed Church where she was active in the Women’s Guild and the church’s concession stand at the Gas-Up in Gallupville, NY.
Loving Edith forever are her daughter: Cynthia J Magee of Otego; sons: Michael R. (Marion) Jaqueway and Mark (Kathy) Jaqueway, both of Schoharie; grandchildren: Kevin (Adina) Magee, Thomas Jaqueway, Katelyn Jaqueway, Jessica Jaqueway; great-granddaughter: Molly Magee; brother, Arthur (Ruth) Graulich; nieces Linda D’Arcangelis, Joan Kolb, Mary Bates, Lisa Rowe and nephew, David Graulich. Edith has reunited in Heaven with her husband, Robert who predeceased her on October 26, 2021 and her son-in-law: James Magee on March 11, 2021.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday June 3, 2022 at the Schoharie Reformed Church, Main Street, Schoharie. Inurnment will follow in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery. Schoharie. All are invited to a visitation with Edith's family from 10:00-11:00AM, prior to the service.
