Jefferson – Douglas A. “Dee” Casey, Jr., died peacefully and unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 while working.
Doug was born on December 15, 1966 to Kathryn J. (Howard) and Douglas A. Casey, of Carmel, NY, both of whom survive Doug.
Anyone that knew Doug or that worked with him knew of his strong work ethic, attention to detail and overall being a great guy. Passionate about his ability, he was a true craftsman and carpenter. His life overflowed with moments around the bonfire and relaxing on vacation at Seaside Park NJ, enjoying his favorite homemade tea with Absolut Vodka that rivaled Mike’s. Doug also enjoyed collecting scale model cars and feeling the wind in his hair and the rumble of the horsepower between his legs as he cruised mile after mile on his motorcycle. Ever the jokester, his smile and love of a good joke will be remembered as much as his unending love and devotion to his children.
He will be loved forever by his parents, his children: Kylee S. Casey and Douglas A. Casey, III both of Jefferson; stepson: Tucker Johnson of Carmel; sister: Kathryn (Mark) Gancasz of Margaretville; brother: James M. (Darlynda) Casey of Yuma, AZ; nieces and nephews: Levi (Corby) Casey, Anthony (Brittany) Casey, Kaylynn (Sergio) Rolon, Darrell (Sasha) Casey along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
All are invited to a visitation with Doug’s family from 5-7PM on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY 12122, with facial protection and distancing respected by all. A graveside service in Union Cemetery, 2239 Route 301, Carmel, NY 10512 will be held at 11AM on Tuesday September 22, 2020.
Doug’s family requests memorials to trust funds set up for his children, checks made payable to either Douglas Casey, III or Kylee Casey, c/o of Wayne Bank, PO Box 279, 1 Churchill Ave. Stamford, NY 12167
