Dolores Subrizi, of North Street, died peacefully at home in the loving care of her family on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
“Dee” was born 87 years ago on December 5, 1934 in East Chester, NY to Louise (Capece) and William Bjorkgren. “Dee” worked for many years as a bookkeeper at East Chester Lincoln-Mercury, while keeping her home and raising her family. Nothing brought her more joy than watching her family grow and being an ever-present part of their lives. She especially loved cooking for them, filling the home with delicious aromas and savory meals.
The love of Christmas and the joy that comes each year through December surely found itself into Dee when she was born. There was a sparkle in her eyes and her infection laugh and great humor always lightened hearts and brought smiles to family and friends. That same bright spirit and zest for life ensured her talent at bowling, her favorite sport. She also enjoyed crocheting in her leisure and being captivated by a good book.
Dee was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic church in Middleburgh for many years before moving to Cobleskill and most recently worshiped at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic church in Cobleskill.
Loving her forever are her husband: Michael Subrizi, of Cobleskill, whom she married on July 8, 1972; her children: Lynda (George) Proper of Round Top and Michael (Laurie) Subrizi of Milford, CT; her grandchildren: Lisa, Steven and Matthew Subrizi; many nieces, nephews and friends. Dee was predeceased by her parents and her brother: William Bjorkgren.
A funeral Mass will be held at a later date to be announced.
Dee’s family request memorials in her honor be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
