Middleburgh – Charlotte (Christman) Chichester, 92, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 with her family by her side.
Born on January 3, 1928, Charlotte grew up with her 13 siblings and attended school in Cobleskill. Throughout her life, Charlotte worked at the Middleburgh Newsroom, the A&S Diner, Saw Mill Joe’s and Joe’s Bar & Grill. In retirement, Charlotte loved to be with friends, playing cards and enjoying a good cup of hot coffee, going for walks, square dancing and listening to Country music. Charlotte cherished time with her family most and was a devoted caretaker for her youngest grandson, Donavan “DJ” Payne.
Charlotte was predeceased by her daughter: Sheryl Wayman and her son: Jack Chichester.
Charlotte’s surviving family includes her son: James Chichester of Cobleskill; daughter: Tina Payne (Sebastian) of Middleburgh; grandchildren: Paul Chichester (Colleen), Sean Bouck, DJ Payne and her granddaughter: Donna Mickel (Eric). She is also survived by several great and great-great-grandchildren.
While no formal services are being held at this time, per Charlotte’s request, a celebration of her life will be held eventually at the family’s convenience. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Charlotte and her family.
