Schenectady – Barbara J. Scislowsky, 78, of Curry Road, died peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2019
Barbara was born in Pittsfield, MA on August 13, 1940 to Ruth (Smith) and Albert H. Morrissey.
Barbara enjoyed knitting, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles but her true passion was Western dancing leading her to form the Schoharie Valley Cloggers many years ago, sharing her passion and teaching others. The music touched her spirit and kicking up her heels came naturally to her and even led to romance.
Barbara is survived by her husband and dancing partner, whom she married on February 14, 1994 and who just celebrated his 101st birthday: Stanley E. Scislowsky of Schenectady and also by his family including: Sharon (Harry) Amendola of Schoharie, Michael (Ann) Scislowsky of Daytona Beach, FL, Babette (Marc) Beckley of Melbourne, FL, Michele (Darin) Zanner, of Melbourne, FL; 6 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Barbara’s family thanks you for remembering them through this time as only a graveside committal service will be held, at a date and time to be announced in the spring, at Middleburgh Cemetery.
Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, is honored to be caring for Barbara and her family.
