Schenectady – Audrey B. D’Amico, 83, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Audrey was born at home on April 21, 1935 and was the eldest daughter of Millicent (Finch) and Albert Almy.
Audrey attended and graduated from Middleburgh Central School in 1953 as Salutatorian of her class and went on to study and graduate from Albany Business College in 1954.
She worked at various places through the years until becoming a secretary at General Electric in Schenectady, where she stayed for 36 years until retiring in 1991.
Audrey’s greatest love was traveling and spending time with her family. With her suitcase ready, she eagerly awaited cruises and bus trips and visits to warmer climates where her son lived through the years. Her home, lovingly kept with plants and her collection of bells was always warm and welcoming after her travels. She enjoyed staying fit at the gym, evening visits and dinners with her daughter’s family, playing Scrabble and never missing the chance to beat her nephew in their evening Domino games.
Audrey’s gentle, loving and generous spirit will be held forever in the hearts and memories of her daughter: Lisa (Lattanzio) and husband, Joe Arket; her son: Frank Lattanzio; her grandchildren: Kevin Lattanzio, Marissa Carmello, and twins Jolie and Louis Arket; also her twin great-grandchildren: Nico and Roman Lattanzio; her sisters: Beverly Standhart, Carrie Foland and husband, Dennis and many nieces, nephews and friends.
