Arlene “Snooks” Lawyer, of Creekside Lane, Middleburgh, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023 with her family by her side.
Snooks was born 80 years ago on May 15, 1943 in Albany and her life revolved around her family. From raising her own children and watching her grandchildren and great-grandbabies grow, to her “adopted” kids and their families, she treasured every moment with all of them. Snooks’ door was always open, welcoming and there was usually something good to eat when you got there. Snooks’ love and compassion also extended to her family at ARC as well, where she worked for many years caring for many of the family members too.
She rarely missed BINGO night and even when her mobility was limited, down the road she came on her scooter-chair to catch the latest news around town and enjoy her scratch-off tickets. She also enjoyed attending softball games, cheering family and friends and admiring the attractive guys also in attendance.
Loving her forever are her children: Tina (Paul), Brian (Linda), Candy, Jeff (Lisa), Hank and Tracy; her grandchildren: Jess (Nate), Kendra (Marty), Bonnie, Jimmy (Heather), Robert (Brandy), RJ (Jordan), Canae (AJ), Katalin (Kris), Nicole (Travis) and Jessie; her great-grandchildren: Ethan, Savannah, Marty, Autumn, Skylar, Avary, Alison, Robbie, Bentley, Adrien, Dax, Kaius, Rory, Alexa, Amelia, Jace, Jaden, Ava and Aiden.
She was predeceased by her daughter: Deedra; grandson: Brian; great-grandbabies: Jaxson, Abigail; siblings: Madeline and Martin, Bill and Alton.
A celebration of Snooks’ life will be held at a later date, to be announced. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Snooks and her family.
