William D. Butler, Sr., of Gilboa, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, May 13, 2024 at the age of 69.
William was a hardworking, strong man who loved his family. William loved being behind a team of horses with the lines in his hands. He was a dairy farmer most of his life, was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.
William in survived by his wife: Edith (Jones) Butler; his children: Jennifer (Willie) Roebuck, Melanie (Shaun) Messier, Richard (Jamie) Butler, Dian (Joe) Roy, Bobbie (Gary) Roy, William Butler, Jr., Michael (Kendra) Butler; and his 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his brothers: Leon "Sonny" Butler, Jr., John Butler, Timothy Butler, Kelly Butler and David Butler and Eddy Butler; his sister: Patricia Rice and numerous nieces and nephews.
William was predeceased by his parents: Alta May Butler and Leon Edward Butler, Sr.; his sisters: Ruth Horne and Nancy Gardner; and his grandson: Wesley Wyatt Roebuck.
A celebration of his life will be held privately for his family and close friends. They wish to express their immense gratitude for the support they've received during this difficult time. They also request instead of flowers or memorials, contributions be forwarded toward the final expenses.
