William L. "Bill" Bartholomew, 84, of New Smyrna Beach, FL. passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his wife, on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on February 8, 1937 in Albany, NY and moved to Florida in 1982 from Middleburgh. He was a residential contractor and owner of Bill Bartholomew Homes in New Smyrna Beach, before his retirement. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach, a past Grand Knight and Third-Degree member of Fr. Downey Council #4934, Knights of Columbus and a Fourth-Degree member of Fr. Joseph Driscoll Assembly #1726, Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #1557 and Rotary Club of Edgewater.

Bill was kind, compassionate and loved his family and friends above all else. His love transcends many generations and will be held forever by his eight sons: Billy (Nancy), Mark, Brian (Cindy), Greg (Lynn) and Robert Bartholomew, Artie, David (Kimberly) and Edward Williams; two daughters: Michelle (Sheila Neville) Bartholomew and Suzanne Williams; four brothers: Larry (Mari), Doug (Jody), Phillip (Beth) and Garry (June) Bartholomew; two sisters: Patricia Del Signore and Sandra (Bob) Johnston; sister-in-law: Adrienne Bartholomew; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sylvia A. Bartholomew; two brothers: Floyd and Howard Bartholomew; brother-in-law: Louis Del Signore and sister-in-law: Madeline Bartholomew. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to their dad's caregiver, Sophia, who was by his side and eased his transition until the end.

A memorial service in celebration of Bill's life will be held at 12PM on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh. Inurnment will follow in Breakabeen Cemetery. All are invited to visit with Bill's family from 10:30AM to 12PM, prior to the service.
