Gilboa – Vernon R Green, of State Route 990V found eternal peace on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Chestnut Park Nursing Center in Oneonta.

Vernon was born 88 years ago on August 10, 1932 in Liberty, NY to Louise (Cronk) and Vernon R. Green, Sr.

Vernon worked as a machine operator for many years at Greendell Packaging in Prattsville and also doing construction work with Eric Dahlberg.  Nothing brought him more pleasure though, than his photography business.  A professional photographer, he ensured that countless moments, memories, weddings, reunions and events were captured and saved forever through the lenses of his favorite cameras.  Vernon also loved cruising the highways in his MGB, bringing memories and smiles to family and friends lucky enough to ride along.  And one of his biggest smiles came from a visit to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodome, when given the chance, he climbed up and into the vintage airplane and took to the skies for a memorable flight.  He loved to fly any chance he could and built many model airplanes through the years.  He also enjoyed snowmobiling through the countryside in the beauty of winter.

Cherishing his love forever are his daughter: JoAnn (Bill) Hanson of Gilboa; step-son: Daniel (Lila) Mudge of Grand Gorge; step-daughter: Jennifer (Yusuf) Abdullah of Palm Coast, FL; sister: Carolyn Doyle of Manorkill; granddaughters: Heather (Michael) Gasner of Middleburgh, Megan Hanson of Gilboa; great-grandchildren: Hallie and William Gasner and Malina Lambert; cousins: Judith Macdonald Wood, Ruth Cook and Tom Mungeer and many other family members and friends. Vernon was predeceased by his brother: Frederic Green and his brother-in-law: Douglas Doyle.

All are invited to visit with Vernon's family from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh. Facial covering and distancing will be respected by all attending.  A memorial graveside service will be held in the spring in Fariview Cemetery, Grand Gorge.
