Obituary

Vernice B. "Bea" Becker passed away on May 9, 2026 in Oneonta.

She was born 84 years ago on April 7, 1942, in Macon, Georgia to Annie Mae (Morgan) and Ernest Davis.

Bea was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzle books. She treasured the comfort of home life and never missed a NASCAR race or cheering for the Atlanta Braves.

Bea is survived by her daughter: Tammie (Mike) King of Lake Mary, Florida; her sons: Edward L. “Ted” (Carole Kimball) Becker of Middleburgh and Ernest Becker of Rotterdam; her grandchildren: Heather (Brian Sutliff) King, Ann (Jaden) Emerick, Lindsey (Miguel) Becker, and Evan (Janessa) Becker and her great-grandson: Aiden Correa; along with many nieces and nephews. Bea was predeceased by her husband, Edward A. Becker, whose memory remains deeply dear, as well as her brothers Alfred “Fred” Davis and Frank "Bubba" Davis, and her sister Marilyn E. “Ernestine” Freeman.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LCC,, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY 12122. A funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00AM. Interment will be in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie.

Bea's family requests memorials in her honor be sent to the American Diabetes Association
