IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy P.
Reinhart
July 26, 1958 – June 4, 2025
Freedom comes in many shapes and forms to the spirit, including freedom from the labors of the day when a soul finds peace. Timothy Reinhart found that peace on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Tim never shied away from each day's tasks that began as a young boy right up to the very moment of peace while sitting in the seat of his tractor basking in the freedom of the open air and sunshine on the farm field.
Tim was born 66 years ago in Catskill to Eleanor (Mercer) and Paul Reinhart. The farm was his life. Bounding down the house stairs, literally, and out the door to the barn before sunrise he was met by any number of hoofed and beaked friends. So strong was his bond with his animals; his ducks, cats, dogs, pigs, calves, and even a giant tom turkey followed him around like the piper. The sounds of the farm filled his soul as much as the classic Rock & Roll music that could always be heard blasting at full volume as you neared the barn. Tim believed the music helped the cows to produce more milk. He had his own meticulous strategies and techniques ensuring every bale of hay was stacked just right, and his barn was virtually spotless.
Tim's dedication to the farm was reflected in countless awards he received for the superior quality of milk his herd produced. His perfection to details could also be seen by his polished trucks and tractors. He could often be seen driving through town on a tractor, in his monster truck, or during his earlier years, in his Buick Grand National. He had a love for trucks and tractor pulls and frequently entered his 1655 Oliver in local fair competitions, and lovingly snookered sisters into helping him polish it the day before. What brother couldn't resist a little mischief in a house full of sisters? But all that boiled down to a heart full of love for them and their families, which included frequent telephone calls or visits with sisters. A recent unannounced road trip to Virginia to surprise his sister on her birthday will be one of their favorite memories.
Tim had a big heart for his family and extended family on East Hill. After selling his cows, Tim worked for many years at the Town of Broome on Saturday mornings where he made several more friends along the way. Tim also kept busy helping neighbors with snowplowing, lawn care, bush hogging and firewood services, as well as with farm and haying needs for others around Middleburgh. He graciously did for others without any expectations in return. He lived for the day and never worried about tomorrow. Two pairs of work boots did just fine, one for the farm work, and a pair for dressing up. The freest of spirits understand the freedom in simplicity.
Loving Tim forever are his sisters: Arleen (Doug) Kingsbury of Williamsburg, VA, Alyce (Scott) DeCotes of Altamont, and Lorraine (Ken) Troy of Montgomery; his nieces and nephews: Chelsea (RJ) Machuta, Brittni (Matt) Aberasturi, Ryan Troy, Kiera (Sunny) DeCotes-Reyes, Devin (Kelly) DeCotes, and Jennifer Kingsbury (Jim); several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Tim was predeceased by his parents and his nephew Jeffrey Kingsbury.
