Obituary

Theodore L. Wood, of State Route 145, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the comfort of his home.

Ted was born 79 years ago in Middleburgh, on October 12, 1941 to Pearle (Rockefeller) and Leland Wood. He graduated from Middleburgh Central School and worked many years for the Town of Rensselaerville Highway Department before retiring.

Ted loved hitting yard sales and auctions, searching for his treasured antique tools to buy and sell from his collection.  He was also a long-time member of the Tri-Village Fire Company, proudly serving and protecting his community.

Ted will be loved forever by his daughter: Jennifer Urrey (Corey McMillen) of Richmondville; sons: Jeffrey Wood of Ft. Worth, TX, Robert (Julie) Shufelt, Jr. of Middleburgh, Gary (Martha) Shufelt of Schoharie; grandsons: Ryan Urrey of Middleburgh and Tanner Shufelt of Sloansville; great-grandson: Michael Cyr of Middleburgh; sister-in-law: Lillian Wood of Preston Hollow; several nieces and nephews and his companion, partner and best friend of 37 years: Lois Shufelt of Preston Hollow. Ted was predeceased by his parents; granddaughter: Kayla Urrey; brother: Earle Dewitt and Kenneth Wood, Sr.; nephew: Kenneth Wood, Jr.

While cremation and inurnment in Livingstonville Cemetery will be private for Ted's family, they thank you for remembering him and them through this time. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC 134 River St. Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Ted and his family. Memorials in Ted's honor are requested to the Tri-Village Fire Company, 3096 Route 145 Preston Hollow, NY 12469
