Steven J. Wood, of Sloansville, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Alexandria Bay, NY.

Steven was born 57 years ago on July 1, 1964 in Cobleskill to Anna and Melvin Wood.  He graduated from Middleburgh Central School and most recently worked at the Hannaford in Esperance.

Steven loved his family, nature, hunting, cheering his favorite team, the Buffalo Bills and listening to the Rolling Stones.  By far, his passion was casting his line out into the water and waiting for that great catch. His fishing camp at Alexandria Bay was his happy place, away from the cares of the world.

Steven will be loved forever by his son: Stuart Wood of Carlisle; his mother: Anna Wood of Middleburgh; his dear aunt and uncle: Theresa (Willwerth) and John Smith of Middleburgh; his companion: Lisa Beaton and many dear relatives, friends and co-workers. Steven was predeceased by his father: Melvin Wood.

All are invited to a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main Street, Middleburgh with Fr. Peter Chepaitis as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Middleburgh Cemetery, Cotton Hill Road, Middleburgh.  Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Steven and his family.
