On August 19, 2022, James "Shawn" Cahill died at his home in Middleburgh, NY at the age of 54.

Shawn was born in Stamford, NY on November 7, 1967. He graduated from Jefferson Central School in 1986. He worked at Deer Run and was a contractor with his father. Shawn loved working with wood, building, hunting and fishing. In 1992 he had his accident which changed his life. But through it all, he managed to keep an upbeat positive attitude towards life. His current interests were NASCAR and his love for the Dallas Cowboys. Shawn will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Shawn is survived by his sister: Teresa Cahill of Stamford NY; his niece: Alexandra Bagley and her daughter Aurora; his step-brothers: Roger and Ronnie Smith of Middleburgh, NY. He was preceded by his mother: Barbara Cahill of Stamford, NY; his father: James Cahill and step-mother: Mary Cahill of Middleburgh.

A celebration of Shawn's life will be held at a future date. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC is honored to be caring for Shawn and his family.
