Obituary

Rosemary Jones, formerly of Middleburgh, passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side, on the morning of March 12, 2025 in Vista, California.

Rosemary was born 98 years ago in Schenectady, NY to Marion Taylor and Alfred Regels.  Rosemary married William Jones Jr. on September 4, 1948.  Together they enjoyed life to the fullest by spending time with family and friends.  Rosemary loved to tell stories of camping trips in Speculator where she and William (Bill) would camp out in a tent in the woods and fish in some of the beautiful lakes in the area.  Eventually, they would build a camp in Wells that they enjoyed for many years.

Rosemary was a huge fan of country music and if you ever visited her, you knew she would always have country music playing in the background.  She was our go to person if we had a question about a song or country music artist.  You would also always find a deck of cards sitting nearby as well, as Rosemary loved to play many different card games.  She would be more than happy to take your quarters in a game of Scat and was always up for a night at BINGO.  Rosemary was an avid reader and always had a book by her side.  She also enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle in pen every day up until just a couple of weeks before her passing.

Mom loved her flowers and had quite the green thumb.  Her home was always decorated with several plants that she managed to have for years.

Rosemary was a member of the of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Cobleskill Elks Lodge, Middleburgh Methodist Church and was a former volunteer at the Cobleskill Hospital.

She lived in Middleburgh for many years before moving to California to live with her daughter Diane at the age of 90.  There, she enjoyed sitting outside getting "some natural Vitamin D" and she loved her trips to the casino.

Most importantly, she loved her family immensely.  Rosemary was happiest when spending time with family.  She loved telling jokes and her smile would light up a room.

Rosemary was predeceased by her husband Bill; her parents: Alfred & Marion; brother: Burton and sister Flossie; also, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her daughters: Diane Webb and Melissa (Dan) Reynolds; grandchildren: Dierdra (Garry) Davis, Ken Webb, Jennifer (Matt) Adams, Erica (Kyle) Reynolds and Christopher Reynolds; great-grandchildren: Bradley & Kayla Springstead, Alexis (Brett) Adams, Ryan (Megan) Adams, Kayden Smith, Nicole (Sheila) Moles and Angela (Bo) Van Don; great-great grandchildren: Brady Wolff, Paisley, Waylon and Oakley Van Don; and her sister-in-law: Irma.

We were blessed to have her in our lives for so many years.  We know that she and dad are now together again and watching over us.

We are very thankful for the wonderful care Rosemary received from her amazing Hospice nurse, Lily.

At Rosemary's request, there will be no services and inurnment will be private.
