Warnerville: Raymond H. Brodie, Sr., 96, of Leland Lane, formerly of Middleburgh, died Sunday, April 9, 2016 at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Raymond was born on December 5, 1920 in Templeton, MA. to Mildred L. (Streeter) and Herbert L. Brodie.
Raymond served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 then managed Borden's Creamery in Middleburgh until its closing. He then became a field representative for the Dairy Lee Corporation until retiring. Ray thoroughly loved his work, traveling and visiting with farmers.
He also enjoyed camping, woodworking and making furniture for his family. Quick with a smile and a joke, his loving spirit will be forever remembered by the family and friends that he cherished and adored.
Raymond was predeceased by his wife: Eleanor C. Brodie, son: Raymond H. Brodie, Jr., grandson: Joshua Brodie.
He is survived by his children: Donna (Earl) VanHorn of Milledgeville, GA; sons: Stephen (Beverly) Brodie, Sr. of Delanson, Thomas Brodie of Breakabeen, 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh with Reverend Carol Coltrain officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in Middleburgh Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
