Garner, Jr.
February 21, 1941 – April 16, 2023
Perry M. Garner, Jr., of Gates Hill Road, died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in the loving care of his family.
Perry was born at home in Middleburgh, on February 21, 1941 to Freda (Mattice) and Perry M. Garner, Sr. He attended Middleburgh Central School and worked in the construction field as a carpenter, building many homes in the Middleburgh area, before going to work for the Union. Perry loved visiting with his classmates and friends, especially over Wednesday morning breakfasts at the Middleburgh Diner. He never passed up a trip to the casinos, playing Mexican Train, visiting with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren or loving his pup companion, "Boost." He also enjoyed attending local concerts.
Perry is survived by his wife: Margaret "Peggy" Garner, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; step-children: Heather (Chris) Duncan and Jameson (Tara) Duncan; his siblings: Irene Cook, Lillian Wood, Mary (Ed) Dunscombe, Sonny Garner and Don (Shirley) Garner.
A visitation with Perry's family will be held from 12-2:00PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh.
