Obituary

Mildred V. Kane, most recently of Stoneview Heights, was welcomed home to Heaven on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Millie was born in Brooklyn on February 16, 1922 to Mary (McGovern) and Thomas Mack and grew up helping her parents raise her many siblings.  She lived in Brooklyn for many years before purchasing her home at the corner of Route 145 and Gates Hill Road and moving to Franklinton in 1970.  Millie set about making her home, but never one to sit idle, she welcomed and cared for ARC residents and also worked part time at the Everything Shoppe in Middleburgh.  She was a member of the Franklinton Grange, the Middleburgh Golden Age Club, the Rosary Society and a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

Millie filled her 98 years with love, laughter and music.  She loved cooking, singing karaoke and spreading sunshine wherever she went.  Her laughter and beautiful smile will brighten many memories, as much as her signature red hair and she truly emulated the Golden Age Club's motto: "to remain enthusiastic is to remain forever young."

Loving her forever are her son: Thomas E. Kane of Cobleskill; her grandsons: Thomas R. (Nicole) Kane of Sharon Springs, Christopher (Angelina) Kane of Sloansville; great-grandson: William Kane of Sharon Springs; sister-in-law: Evelyn Mack of Franklinton; sister: Anne Harran of Florida; brother: Joseph Mack of Virginia and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Millie was predeceased by her parents; husband: Thomas C. Kane, infant daughter: Cathleen; son: William Kane; daughter-in-law: Dorothy Kane; sisters: Mary Boyle, Thresa Boyle; brothers: Thomas Mack, Edward Mack.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main St. Middleburgh with Fr. Juanito Asprec as celebrant. Burial will follow in Middleburgh Cemetery.                                                                                              All are invited to a visitation with Millie's family from 12:00-2:00PM on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh.  Facial covering and distancing will be required and respected by all.
