Maurice M. Lamont, of Walhalla Road, found eternal peace on Wednesday, April 2, 2026 at home.
He was born 67 years ago on January 9, 1959 in Cobleskill to Effie Mae (Pierce) and Maurice Lamont, Sr.
Family was everything to Maurice and he couldn't get enough time with "Ma," his wife, or with his daughters and grandchildren. You knew where he was in the room, just listen for his laughter or a cracking joke at the best moment. You could also find him, by the roar of the lawnmower, every day, ensuring he had the best cut blades of grass in Breakabeen. He also loved hunting a good deal, hauling scrap metal, and logging with his brother Leland, all while listening to his favorite Country music coming from the radio.
Maurice's loving family include his wife: Mary Jane (Wasson) Lamont; his daughters: Lisa (Scott) Lamont, Laura Borthwick, Shannon (Jim) DuPont, Jennifer Gargan and Dorothy Shaul; his grandchildren: Kylie, Connor, Brianna, Dalton, Jack and Emmalee; his great-granddaughter: Lainey; his siblings: Doreen (PeeWee) Papas, Leland Lamont, Connie (Charles) Diamond, Dawn Belon, Mary (Jim) Self, Ricky Lamont, Mary (Chi) Chichester, Donald Mace, John (Pam) and Colleen Perrotti. Maurice was predeceased by his parents: Effie (Pierce) and Maurice Lamont, Sr.; his foster parents: Rose and Donald Mace; siblings: Linda Ebert, Barb Lamont and Robert Lamont.
A visitation with Maurice's family will be from 10:00-11:00AM on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY 12122. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, immediately following the visitation.
