Gilboa-  Matthew J. Young, 43, of Guinea Road, died unexpectedly at his home on May 1, 2017.

He was born on March 20, 1974 in Oneonta to JoAnn (Bellinger) and Gary Young.

Matthew was a graduate of Gilboa Central School and SUNY Cobleskill.  His last position was as Office Manager for Dan Tait Inc. of Grand Gorge.

Matthew enjoyed a love of boating and traveling, most recently to France, Germany and the Netherlands.  He also enjoyed cooking, grilling, entertaining and being a welcoming host.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Renee Young and son, Riley Young of Gilboa as well as his parents,  JoAnn (Robert) Haskin of Gilboa and Gary Young of Gilboa, sisters, Pamela Young of Rotterdam and Kimberly Young of Durham, niece, Jessica (Dennis) Mattice of Rotterdam, nephew, Joseph Marsh of Rotterdam and many other aunts, uncles and family.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 2-4PM on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Coltrain Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.  There will be no formal service.
