Marjorie H. Zysk, 92. A long time resident of Dutchess County, NY, died peacefully at home with family in Schoharie County, NY.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 8, 1931, she was the daughter of Sealor and Elizabeth (Scofield) Kniffen. Marjorie attended Wappingers Central School until finding employment at the Wappingers Falls Bleachery, then becoming employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY. In later years she worked as a private home care aide and also for the Dutchess County Infirmary in Millbrook, NY.
She was married to Horace W. Bull and moved to Verbank, NY in 1953 where she raised her two sons. She was a nature lover and some of her favorite activities were picking hickory nuts and elderberries with her family, and decorating her home with things from nature. Her faith was also very important to her. She was a dedicated member of the Verbank United Methodist Church and in later years joined the Trinity Episcopal Church in Fishkill, NY.
On July 17, 1982 she married Leon (Lou) Zysk and was introduced to the joy of traveling. She and Lou traveled all over the United States and Lou's homeland in Europe until his passing in 2011. In June of 2022 she moved to Middleburgh, NY where she lived with her family.
Marjorie is survived by her sons and their spouses: Mark D. Bull and Denise of Grover, NC, Albert M. Bull and Roberta of Middleburgh, NY as well as her stepson, Louis Zysk of Poughkeepsie, NY. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Melody, Heather, Horace, Danielle, Michael and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband Horace W. Bull, her husband Leon W. Zysk, her granddaughter Jessica Bull, her step-daughter, Victoria A. Zysk, and her sister Marlene Riley.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date at the family's discretion. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Marjorie and her family.
