Middleburgh – Marian J. Del Giorno passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 1, 2020.
Born on September 9, 1933 to Edna (Shelmandine) and Otis Lawyer on the family farm in Breakabeen, she grew up with her siblings and graduated from Middleburgh Central School in 1950.
Though life would take her to many locations, Marian always remained a member of the Breakabeen Grange, participated in the annual Old Home Day Celebrations for many years and she attended the Breakabeen Presbyterian church. She was a professional secretary, earning the respect of her colleagues not only at a national level with the FBI but locally as well, working with Senator Clinton Dominick and finally the NYS Association of Chiefs of Police for over 30 years.
Marian enjoyed painting with watercolors and she loved watching her grandchildren grow. Her home was adorned with generations of their pictures, surrounding her in their love even when they were apart.
Marian was predeceased by her former husband: Robert Del Giorno; her grandson: Jason Manchester; her sister and brother-in-law: Josephine and Jim Spencer and her niece: Deborah Lipscomb.
Cherishing her love forever are her daughters: MeriBeth Del Giorno of Middleburgh and Natalie (Larry) DelliVeneri of Amsterdam; her son: Michael (Delores) Del Giorno of Athol; her grandchildren: Joshua Manchester, Jeremy Heitkamp, Carina Hull, Kim (Michael) Girard, Heather Kohls, Zach Del Giorno, Kala Del Giorno, Maria DelliVeneri; her great-grandchildren: Raven and Chris Deyette, Mason and Erica Kohls and Freyr Heitkamp; her sisters: Ginny ("Bucky") Mahony of Middleburgh, Janice Alessi and Helene Curran, both of Cobleskill; her brother: Otis "Sonny" (Shirley) Lawyer of Schoharie and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Coltrain Funeral Home LLC of Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Marian, her family and arranging for her private cremation. A spring interment of her cremains will be held in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery.
