IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julius
Fernandez
November 8, 1936 – October 20, 2024
Julius Fernandez, of Lawton Hollow Road, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 20, 2024 in the loving care of his family.
Julius was born 87 years ago on November 8, 1936 in Bridgeport, CT. to Cecilia (Valcarcel) and Miguel Fernandez. Julius married his wife Kathleen on April 21, 1960 and they shared over 50 years together.
After serving in the United States Army, Julius began his lifelong driving career. His last position being the most special, greeting students and parents alike with his warm smile, safely driving students to and from Middleburgh Central School in his school bus before retiring.
Julius moved to Middleburgh with his family and quickly settled on Lawton Hollow Road. He was never far from his wrench or tools, tinkering on projects, fixing things for family and friends and he absolutely loved his tractor. His sense of humor was widely known and he was always ready with a smile, a joke and some laughter to brighten the day.
His faith kept him strong through losing his beloved wife Kathleen in 2022 and assured him of their reunion in Heaven. As did finding St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Middleburgh, and being welcomed with open arms and the warmest hearts into their family of faith.
Nothing brought Julius more happiness though, than sharing his love with his beautiful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Loving him forever are his daughters: Tracy (Richard) Bernard of Middleburgh, Kristine (Edward, Jr.) Jackson of Milford, CT., Jennifer Fernandez (Gene Euler) of Middleburgh; grandchildren: Robert (Keri) Ostrander, Derek (Sydney) Ostrander, Tyler Jackson (Jaqueline Freeman), Erin Jackson (Jesse Rocha), Kelsey Jackson, Alexandra Tsamis, Isabelle Tsamis, Theodore J. Tsamis; great-grandsons: Brayden Jackson, Parker Jackson and River Ostrander; many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his wife Kathleen, Julius was also predeceased by his siblings
A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 326 Main Street, Middleburgh, NY. Interment will follow in Middleburgh Cemetery.
