Joseph J. D'Arpa, Jr. died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, while taking a nap.

Joes was born 87 years ago on May 14, 1933 in Flushing, NY to Emma (McMillen) and Joseph J. D'Arpa, Sr.

Kind and gentle, Joe was happiest around their home and often helped with the family's roadside vegetable stand in the village of Middleburgh.  Always nicely dressed, Joe loved flirting with the ladies, feeling the warm sunshine, enjoying the beauty of roses and learning new things.  He read the newspaper every day and loved exploring the world through his tablet, all while smoking his signature pipe.

Cherishing Joe's life and memory are his sister: Marian Prothero; his nieces: Catherine and Christine and his four great-nephews: Christopher, Connor and Eli, along with his devoted family and friends at the Schoharie-Lexington ARC where Joe had lived since 1999.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY with Rev. Peter J. DeBartolo officiating.
