John B. Somma, of Schoharie, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

He was born 78 years ago on June 16, 1946 in Glens Falls to Mary (Bisselli) and Michael A. Somma and retired from the Village of Middleburgh in 2002 after nearly 10 years with the crew.  He loved his job and helping others whenever he could.

John was happiest with a fishing pole in his hands, patiently waiting a tug on the line and when he was surrounded by his family.

His loving family includes his wife: Vicki (Foland) Somma of Schoharie, Robert (Star) Foland of Middleburgh, Tina (Bubba) Croft of Lake City, FL., Rebecca Somma of Troy and John Soma, Jr., of Watervliet; his grandchildren: Desyree, Khloe, Lucas, Hunter, Willow and Violet, Johnathan, Alexys, Davonte, Michael, Bethany and Brett; his great-grandchildren: Colton, Arielle and Justin, Jr.; his sisters and brothers: Toni, Rose, Lucy, Anne Marie, Henry, Lewis, Mike and Benny; and many nieces and nephews.  John was predeceased by his parents and his son: Anthony Somma.

A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
