Joan M. Wittmann, of MT Path, an incredibly loving, caring, insightful, strong, patient and wise woman, found peace in the loving embrace of her Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2021.

Joan was born 88 years ago on December 19, 1932 in Franklin Square, NY to Mildred (Bedell) and Jacob Vollkommer.  A blind date brought her and Raymond Wittmann together and it's no wonder, with her beautiful smile, exuberant laughter and youthful spirit, they were married on October 30, 1954 and have shared 67 years of love, laughter and memories together.  When Joan wasn't helping with the family business, Continental Screw Machine in Deer Park, she was lovingly tending her home and raising their daughter Patricia.

After retiring and moving to Middleburgh, her friends and extended family were never far away. She enjoyed being part of the Middleburgh Golden Age Club and also enjoyed going to the casinos, the Roulette table and visiting the horse track, betting on her favorites.  She was also passionate about playing and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Joan's unconditional love will be held forever by her husband Raymond, of Middleburgh; her daughter: Patricia Palmieri of Deer Park; her granddaughters: Sherryann Palmieri and Michelle Skidmore; her great-grandchildren: Isabella, Luciana, Ryder, who was affectionately known by his great-grandma as "Skeezicks,"  Colton and Brendon;  her sister-in-law: Mary Ann Vollkommer; her nephews: Robert, Dennis and Michael and their families; her cousins and many friends.

All are invited to a visitation with Joan's family from 2-5:00PM on Thursday, April 1, 2020 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY. Facial covering and distancing will be respected by all attending.  A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, NY.
