Joan Taylor Coons, 89, of Middleburgh passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Joan was born April 14, 1934 in Queens NY and moved to Middleburgh in her childhood years. She married the love of her life, Leonard R Coons Jr. on January 10, 1958. Together they raised three children and opened Lenny's Tire Service in 1967.  In 1972 she opened her ceramic shop, JC's Gift Shop and taught ceramic classes until August of 2011.

She loved going to bingo, crocheting, free hand painting and spending time with her family, who always referred to her as "G-Unit", due to her feisty nature.

Joan was a member of the Onistagrawa Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society and the Middleburgh VFW Post # 2161 Auxiliary.

Joan was predeceased by her husband: Leonard R Coons Jr. She is survived by her three children: Susan L. Hinkley, Karen G. Coons and Leonard R. (Amanda) Coons III, all of Middleburgh, NY; her nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and her sister: Barbara J. (Wallace)McKinney of Florida.
