Middleburgh – Everett C. Mercer passed away in the comfort of his home on Thursday, January 20, 2022 in the loving care of his family.

Born 59 years ago in Catskill on August 28, 1962 to Pauline (Reinhart) and Maurice "Sonny" Mercer, Jr., Everett grew up on the family farm on East Hill and never shied away from old fashioned hard work. He drove bus and served as an aide with Schoharie County ARC for many years.  He loved his family deeply and never missed a good party, tipping a few back while relaxing beside his pool and loved tending to his property with his favorite toys from Husqvarna and Stihl.

Loving him forever are his wife: Janice Hagadorn-Mercer of Middleburgh, whom he married on August 4, 1990; his children: Sarah Savola of Richmondville and Matthew Savola of Middleburgh; his granddaughter and light of his life: Ariella Gras of Richmondville; his father: Maurice S. "Sonny" Mercer, Jr. of Middleburgh; sisters: Audrey (Ron) Wood of Middleburgh, Diane Manchester (Gary Hotaling) of Sharon, Valerie (Tom) Warner of Middleburgh, Nancy (Dale) Terrell of Middleburgh; brothers: Duane (Mary) Mercer of Middleburgh, Roy Mercer of Middleburgh and many nieces and nephews.  Everett was predeceased by his mother Pauline, his brother Alan Mercer and his daughter Shawna Mercer.

A celebration of Everett's life will be held at a time convenient to his family.
