Ernest W. Borst, of Allen Hill Road, Gilboa, died on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Glendale Center for Nursing and Rehab

Ernie was born 77 years ago on May 1, 1946 in Cobleskill to Virginia (Nostrand) and Howard Borst.  He left school early, after the 9th grade, to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1963-1967.  He worked for many years as a Steamfitter and plumber at General Electric in Schenectady before retiring.

Ernie loved reading and challenging his mind and memory with crossword and Sudoku puzzles and watching Westerns on television.  Ernie also enjoyed visiting all of the casinos in the local area.

Loving him forever are his wife Luella Ann (Warner) whom he married on January 1, 1966; son: Jeffrey Borst; daughter: Belinda (Michael) Borst; grandchildren: Trent Borst, Kayla (Matt) Newton, Amber Borst, Raven Borst, Dylan Borst, Gabriella Oates and Veronica Oates; great-grandchildren: Sofia Smith and Paisley Newton.

As per Ernest's wishes there will be no formal services.
