Elsie Theresa Madison of Carlisle, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Born August 13, 1920 in San Pedro, California, she was the daughter of Takenosuke Ito and Shigechiyo (Goto) Ito.

Elsie married William Wallace Madison on December 21, 1951 in Nagoya, Japan and was predeceased by her brother, Henry; sister, Mary; her husband William; and her son, Alan.

Surviving family includes her son: William (Nancy) Madison, Jr., of Carlisle and her daughter: Donna (David) LeBarron of Santa Clarita, CA.

Elsie and her husband were owners and operators of Madison's Grocery in South New Berlin, NY and Uncle Bill's Restaurant in Sherburne, NY.

Elsie was an avid knitter and would ask anyone she met if they knew how to knit too.

She attended Valley Bible Baptist Church in Cobleskill, where she put her knitting to good use in both the Prayer Shawl and Precious ministries. She also enjoyed working with the Seedline Ministries (Bible Publishing).
