Livingstonville:  Elizabeth Louise. DeWitt, 66, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 peacefully in her home.

Elizabeth, also known as Betty-Lou, was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 3, 1950 to Sarah (Simpkins) and Richard Jones, Elizabeth remained there for many years until moving to Livingstonville in 2005.

Elizabeth was a very talented women. She was a licensed beautician, a self taught musician, and an artist. She loved her family and pets extensively.

Elizabeth was strong a strong willed individual and in 2012, she fought pancreatic cancer and won.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her son Richard Martin Gene DeWitt.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 49 years Stephen DeWitt, their children: Joyce DeWitt of Staten Island, Janice Quadara of Brooklyn, Jeannette Ramos of Delray Beach, FL, and Stephen DeWitt, Jr. of New York.  Grandchildren: Amanda Louise - Jean, Stephen Gene, Alyssa Marianna, Christian Paul, Brianna, Savanah, and Cali

Elizabeth's family wishes to share this verse, which has brought them much comfort:

God saw you were getting tired

And a cure was not to be,

So He put His arms around you,

And whispered, "Come to me."

With tearful eyes we watched you,

And saw you pass away.

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands at rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.
