Livingstonville: Edward A. Wogan, 85, of Mattice Road and Englewood, FL, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Queens, NY on June 30, 1932 to Edward A Wogan and Florence (Farrell) Wogan, Ed grew up and attended school in the Bronx before graduating.
Ed was employed in the trucking industry early in his career and moved to Schoharie County in 1971. At that time Ed was successfully employed as an iron worker, until his retirement. He was a proud member of Iron Workers Union Local 12, and enjoyed all aspects of iron work and construction, as well as all things mechanical. Ed was a car enthusiast and restorer, and enjoyed travel and time with his family.
Ed was predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen (Kennedy) Wogan on September 10, 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Irmgard (Olbert) Wogan, of Livingstonville and Englewood, FL, whom he married on February 23, 1974 and his four children: Edward and Susan Wogan of Magnolia, MA, Eileen and David Ostrander, of Angelica, NY, Mary Ellen Wogan of North Providence, RI, and James and Mindy Wogan, of Middleton, MA.; his grandchildren: Ryan (Michelle) Ostrander of Angelica, Amanda Ostrander of Medford, MA, Erin Ostrander of Angelica, NY, Brian Mayville of Boston, Jake Wogan and Molly Wogan both of Middleton, MA, and a great grandson, Clayton Ostrander, of Angelica, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main Street, Middleburgh. Interment in Middleburgh cemetery will be at the family's convenience, following cremation. All are invited to a visitation from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh.
