Edward E. Johnson, of Donlon Heights Road, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Delmar Center Nursing, in Delmar, NY. Ed was born 78 years ago on May 24, 1944 in Passaic, NJ to Karin (Skoglund) and Edward F. Johnson.
He graduated from Clifton High School and earned his Electrical Engineering Degree from Worcester Polytech College in 1966 and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Massachusetts. Ed worked for the Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. in Newport News, VA., working extensively with EXXON, researching possible alternatives to the Alaska Pipeline. Generous with his time and talents, Ed also helped many students earn their G.E.D.
He loved being on the water and sailing in the Caribbean with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed skiing, camping and relaxing with a good book.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Sandra Johnson of Middleburgh, whom he married on February 14, 1971; his daughter: Karin Johnson and husband James Riley of San Francisco, CA; grandson: Noah Ault of Warsaw, IN; siblings: Judy Vander Wande, Thomas R. Johnson and wife Mary all of Colorado; dear friends: Kyle Ondrecek, Ehab Bessio and families. Ed was predeceased by his daughter: Michelle Johnson; grandson: Zachariah Spaulding; brother-in-law: Edward Vander Wande
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, April 17, 2023 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Main Street, Middleburgh. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Ed and his family.
