Dorothy M. Gipp, of State Route 7, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at home, in the loving care of her family.

Dorothy was born 96 years ago on July 25, 1925 in Voorheesville to Ethel and Jacob Dolder.  Throughout her life, she lived in many different places, firstly Voorheesville and worked at the Government Army Depot, then in Altamont, Pennsylvania and back to Middleburgh.  She also worked at Van Deusen's Dress Shop in Cobleskill for many years.

Dorothy loved hand crafts, sewing and tending the beautiful flowers in her gardens as much as caring for her family.

Loving her forever are her daughter: Dorothy ("Sonny") Pickett, of Howes Cave; son: John J. (Colleen) McKenna of Brodheadsville, PA; grandchildren: Francis W. Pickett, Jr., John P. Pickett, Dwight P. Pickett, John D. McKenna, Joshua McKenna; great-grandchildren: Ellen, Naomi, William, Ryan, Tyler, Dianna, Kaleb, Luke, Amirah; great-great-grandchildren: Avery and William; and many extended members of the Gipp family. Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband: John McKenna, second husband: William Gipp, Jr. and her daughters: Diane Pickett and Barbara Jones.

A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh. All are invited to visit with her family from 11AM-1PM prior to the funeral service. Spring interment will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.
