Chester A. Armellino

Chester A. Armellino, "KF6WND", a dedicated amateur radio operator, "signed off" for the last time on Friday, March 27, 2025 in the loving care of his family.

He was born 76 years ago on October 5, 1949 in Jackson Heights, NY to Marie (Nappi) and John Armellino. He earned his Master's degree and was an electrical engineer and professor of physics and mathematics, most recently at Heald College in California.

Known across the airwaves for many years, Chester found joy in connecting with people worldwide. He was always willing to mentor and share knowledge, and enjoyed building radios, tube amplifiers and dabbling with anything electronic.

Loving him forever are his wife: Connie (Frasier) Armellino, whom he married August 11, 2001; his son: Corey (Larissa Rojko) Frasier of Cobleskill; his granddaughter: Emily (Kyle Perdue) Frasier, of Cobleskill and his faithful pups: Cody and T.C.

A visitation with Chester's family will be from 5:00-6:00PM on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River street, Middleburgh, NY 12122. A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM, immediately following the visitation.

Chester's family requests memorial contributions in his memory be given to the Schoharie Valley Animal Shelter, PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092
