Charles J. Walsh went onto the arms of the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2025 after a long-term illness.

Born in Schenectady, he served the country as a Corpsman in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he further served his community as a career Police Officer for the City of Schenectady, retiring with the rank of Sargeant.

He found peace from the bustle of law enforcement by moving into the quieter side of life amongst the trees in Saratoga County, to eventually find his true happiness, his home up high in the hills of Schoharie County. There he expanded his love for tractors, tools and dogs, just no cats.

He is survived by his brother: Jerry Walsh of Maryland; his sons: Michael (Loucinda) Walsh and Joseph (Sara) Walsh; his daughter: Deborah (John) Coon; his grandchildren: Alex (Billy) Herman, Carley, Madelyn, Olivia Walsh and Justin Phillippe.

A private service will be held by the family and they ask that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105, which he firmly believed in.
