Obituary

Middleburgh – Seventy-six years of love, laughter and life will be cherished by everyone that knew Beatrice A. McHale-Armlin.  Bea loved to be with her family and to travel, so fitting that she was doing both just before her life on earth ended peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, April 8, 2019 in Fort Lauderdale.

It began on October 4, 1942 in Schenectady with proud parents, Doris (Rivenburgh) and Kenneth Webb welcoming her into life.  She grew up, attended and graduated from Middleburgh Central School.  Perhaps the greatest thing she took away from her schooling was the love and friendship of her soul-sister, Beverly Taylor, a bond that started in Kindergarten and held until that last day.

A special woman with a tireless spirit, she minded and kept the books at A&S Garage for many years, raised her family and was proudest of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bea still found ample time to enjoy herself.  Whether traveling with her Will across the country, shopping, reading a good mystery, gardening or rooting for her favorite NASCAR driver, Bea enjoyed them all, though none as much as betting the odds and testing her skill at gambling.

And she won her greatest prize over 20 years ago in William I Armlin, IV, who shared her life and love as husband and wife for the last ten years and was beside her on her last day.  She was also blessed with her children: Laura (Brian) Mead, Alina (Klaus) Harbers, Sean (Anna) McHale; step-children: Kelly (Brian) Daugherty, Cindy Armlin (Kim Parise), Allison Armlin, Darla (Bob) Robinette; grandchildren: Angelica (Erik) Ostman, Myles Moreno, Nick (Meghan) Mead, Allyssa (Josh) Hoerz, Alex Porfirio, David McHale, VanLuke McHale, Kirk McHale, Niki (Tom) Ondrek, Hailey Daugherty, Kaitlin Daugherty, Gabrielle Parise, River Robinette; great-grandchildren: Mason Ostman, Sadie Grace Hoerz, Lily Corbet, Jonny Ondrek; sister: Sheridan (Richard) Hogeboom; brother: Richard Webb; many nieces, nephews and her second soul-sister: Ilse Keyser.

Bea was predeceased by her first husband: John W. McHale and her brother: Kenneth Webb.

A celebration of Bea's life will be held at 7:00PM on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, with Pastor Jay Francis leading.  All are invited to visit with the family from 6:00-7:00 prior to the service.  Private inurnment will take place in the family cemetery on Armlin Hill.
