Arthur Frederick Reinheimer, Sr., son of his late parents Lillian and Arthur Reinheimer of NYC, passed away at the age of 87 in St. Peter's Hospital on Sunday, May 25, 2025 after a long Illness.
Arthur was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Catherine Louise (Armlin) who was a lifetime resident of Middleburgh, NY and his oldest daughter Darleen L. (Novak).
Arthur is survived by his daughter: Valerie (Gerardo) Dunham; grandchildren: Julia and Gerardo Dunham III; great-grandchildren: Ross Guernsey V, Ninovan Catherine-Belle Dunham; daughter: Lori Douglas; grandson: Scotty Bellinger and great-granddaughter: Layla Mary Bellinger; daughter: Cynthia (Fred) Wood; grandsons: Christian Packard, Jessie Wood; daughter: Katie Lockwood; granddaughter: Krysteena Reinheimer; grandson: Braedyn Lockwood; son: Arthur, Jr.; granddaughters: Alexis Reinheimer, Amber (Harry) Sanchez and great-grandson: Wave.
Arthur was born on May 26, 1937 in Queens, NY. Growing up in NYC, he attended Thomas Edison School, worked as a Stockbroker on Wallstreet, did drawings for Walt Disney and as a career became a Police Officer for NYC for a short duration. After moving to Upstate NY, with his wife Catherine and first daughter Darleen, he worked construction while waiting for a position to open in the Police Department. His final career position was Chief of Police for the Village of Schoharie. As he started to look toward retirement in 1983 at the age of 45, he remodeled multiple homes and apartment houses to become a landlord until he passed. After he retired, he became a member of the Middleburgh Central School Board and was also elected as Town of Fulton Supervisor. He pursued his hobbies as a farmer raising cattle and then expanded into mowing several of the local farmer's fields until he was 81 years old. During that time, he also created a family wood cutting business.
Dad loved animals, fishing, antiques, hunting, theme parks, especially the Ferris wheel, vacations to Cape Cod and Lake George, but mostly just enjoyed spending time with family and closest lifelong friends Jeannie Eallamo and Gerald Wetzel and their families. He will be greatly missed by us all.
All are invited to a funeral service at 11:00AM on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Coltrain Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY, and also to visit with Arthur's family from 5:00-7:00PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025 also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
