Middleburgh-Arthur Joseph Dyer Jr. (Joe), 69, of Boucks Hollow Road, passed away at his home on August 28, 2017.
Joe was born on November 25, 1947 in Albany to Beatrice (Conklin ) and Arthur Joseph Dyer, Sr.
After graduating from Middleburgh Central School, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving a full tour of duty in the Vietnam War as an aircraft engine repairman. His awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expeditionary Medal and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.
Joe started a second 28 year career as a level III NDT quality control inspector for DynaBil Industries and Ducommun Aerospace Structures Inc. He retired completely in 2015 to enjoy the scenic view of the Middleburgh Valley. He enjoyed being with his family, reading books, and watching movies.
Joe was married to Dorothy (Armlin) Kossmann, who predeceased him in 2013. He was also predeceased by his brother: Dennis Dyer.
Joe is survived by three children: Joeseph Dyer, Mark Dyer, Angela Dyer; four step children: Newton Bagley, Robert Bagley, Paul Bagley, Kristy Wren; a sister: Linda Hotaling; two brothers: Fredrick (Rick) Dyer, John (Carolann) Dyer; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
All services will be held privately, at the family's convenience.
Memorial donations are asked to be made to associations for Veteran Support services, such as the Wounded Warrior Project.
