Antoinette "Toni" J. Smigiel 55, of Huntersland Road, Middleburgh, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 with her loved ones surrounding her.

Born on August 24, 1969 in Cobleskill, NY to Olive (Schrom) and Donald Smigiel Sr., some people knew her as Antoinette, but most knew her as Toni and the special ones in her life she was known as "Neigh."

While her greatest accomplishment was unquestionably her son John, Toni was also a loving sister, aunt, daughter and friend and is loved and cherished equally by many.  Toni's love for being a caregiver for many years brought her so much joy. She also found joy in working on vehicles, showing the men how to do things. Anyone who knew Toni knows her love for anything to do with Christmas, even if that meant Christmas music in July. Her love for Elvis was overwhelming at times, going so far as to ensure the memorabilia was still safely packaged and untouched. Toni was always ready for a trip to the casino to play some hands of cards. She loved fishing and bringing a picnic lunch to share with the family. Toni never passed on a yard sale either and often said her greatest find was the 6-foot-tall Elvis cut out.

Toni loved watching movies and game nights with the family. Toni also had a deep love for children, whether it be sitting and rocking the babies to sleep, making funny faces to bring out the giggles and giving them toys to play with.

Loving Toni forever are her mother: Olive Smigiel of Middleburgh; her son: John Mead Jr. of Middleburgh; her brothers: Donald (Julie) Smigiel Jr. and Chance (Tayla) Smigiel; her sister: Holly (Danny) Trombley; her nieces: Shawni Boyce, Chealsa (Daniel) Hayes, Abeline Smigiel; her nephew:      Hunter Smigiel; her great-niece: Nora Hayes; her God-daughter: Lilah (Chuck) Swint and countless friends. Toni was predeceased by her father: Donald Smigiel Sr. and maternal grandmother: Jennie Schrom

A celebration of Toni's life will be held from 12:00PM-5:00PM on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 2016 Huntersland Road, Middleburgh, NY 12122 to share stories and all of the memories her family and friends have of their amazing "Neigh."
